It’s the people and their passion for what they do that make BCG such a unique place.

A Personal Story

I never planned to work in the corporate world. Studying international relations, I hoped for a career in diplomacy or academia.

Yet I became intrigued by consulting as soon as I learnt about it: work in an international environment, zero risk of stereotypes and collaboration with people from the most exotic academic disciplines sounded just right for me.

Now I’ve been with BCG for almost two years; I have worked on very real business problems in different industries across several countries, I have seen my recommendations implemented and my skills developing beyond my expectations. Add the fantastic people I work with and the extremely friendly company culture and you may begin to understand my fascination with consulting…

A Personal Story

After an education that combined academic research and business school, I chose to start my career at BCG because it seemed to be the best of both worlds: intellectual challenge and the potential to make an impact on the business world. I have now been here ten years, and that judgment has been confirmed many times over. Indeed, BCG has given me what I consider a unique opportunity to combine professional and personal growth.

The work itself is very demanding but also highly rewarding. Not a week goes by without my saying to myself, “Wow, I really accomplished something significant.” It’s a great feeling to know that your efforts are making a real difference to the business fortunes of some of the world’s best companies.

BCG has given me avenues to stretch myself in other ways as well. Through the secondment program, I had the opportunity to work for two years for the Accor Group in an operational position, an experience that both broadened and deepened my professional skills and perspectives. I also took advantage of the opportunities BCG provides to work abroad and spent a year in our New York office. And I have had the chance to contribute to the greater good through BCG’s social impact initiative.

Finally, BCG’s culture is really special and makes me proud to work here. Yes, we work extremely hard. But we also care about each other. The intensity of the teamwork creates special bonds between and among us.

I recommend to recruits that they take the time to get to know the BCG people they meet in the interview process. Our values are strong—each of us truly lives them. If you like us as individuals, you will like working with our company.
