The key to BCG is the people—people I appreciate for their analytical minds and professionalism.
Martin
Partner & Managing Director, Prague
A Personal Story

BCG attracted me as a place to develop and grow further. Following my career in banking and another consulting company, I felt that I needed new motivation and experiences. Since I joined, I have enjoyed myself tremendously, addressing the strategic challenges of leading banks, telecoms and other companies across the region, and later starting to focus on developing the Prague office. Building something new is a special thing for all of us. For me, the key to BCG is the people—people I appreciate for their analytical minds and professionalism, but also count as personal friends whom I enjoy spending time with outside of working hours. BCGers are smart but don't need to show it to others. We maintain respect for our diversity and there is no one way of thinking, acting or working. That makes BCG different.

Prior to that he worked as a strategy consultant at a leading management consulting company and held several managerial positions in the financial services sector. In addition to the people you work with, BCG offers unparalleled opportunities to pick your own path to learn and grow.
Martin
Partner & Managing Director, Prague
A Personal Story
Initially, I was drawn to BCG by its reputation for intellectual rigor and by the impact BCG has had on business thinking.  After the first rounds of interviews, I was attracted by the quality of the people I met in Prague and Warsaw.  Now I know that in addition to the people you work with, BCG offers unparalleled opportunities to pick your own path to learn and grow. In the past 6 years I have worked on projects in 7 countries from 4 different BCG offices on 2 continents and for clients in financial services, telecoms, energy and pharmaceuticals. And I know I have become part of a BCG network that will work beyond my stay at BCG.
Background
Martin studied economics in Prague and at Stanford University in the US. He holds a Ph.D in Economics from CERGE-EI in Prague and an M.A. degree in International Trade from the Prague School of Economics. He joined BCG in 2001.

BCG provides the breadth and depth of a global network to complement my skills and experience.
Jan
Project Leader, Prague
A Personal Story
I wanted to join BCG to increase the impact of my work and to grow further professionally. BCG’s global network represents an immense source of knowledge and expertise. Combined creatively with my own experience and industry perspective, this increases the value provided to the client, meaning together we can make a much bigger impact and I get more satisfaction. With the help of BCGers from around the world willing to share their views, expanding my own knowledge and expertise can be very fast. From the very start I have appreciated the caring, friendly atmosphere and colleagues who provide the support and stimulation to develop further.
Background

Jan holds a PhD in Biomechanics from Imperial College, London, an MSc in Bioengineering, also from Imperial and an MSc in Applied Mechanics from the Czech Technical Institute in Prague. BCG has provided me with a wide range of international opportunities—first working abroad while based in the New York office and now spending a year in the Prague office.
Christina
Consultant, Prague
A Personal Story
BCG has provided me with a wide range of international opportunities.  While working on my first project in the New York office, I went on market visits to Rome and Hong Kong.  I also spent several weeks in Dublin working on a telecoms project with a team from London.  Now I am spending the year working in the Prague office as part of the Associate Abroad program.  With each project, in addition to learning about a new industry or practice area, there is the added challenge of understanding a new geographical market.  It has been exciting to work with people from other offices to gain new perspectives from them and share mine.  It is wonderful that BCG has provided me with so much international experience very early in my career.
Background
Christina graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania's Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology, receiving a BAS in Systems Science from the School of Engineering and Applied Science and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School.  Christina joined BCG’s New York office as an Associate in 2006 and is currently working in the Prague office for 12 months as part of the Associate Abroad program.
Eva
It’s the people and their passion for what they do that make BCG such a unique place.
Eva
Senior Associate, Prague
A Personal Story

I never planned to work in the corporate world. Studying international relations, I hoped for a career in diplomacy or academia.

Yet I became intrigued by consulting as soon as I learnt about it: work in an international environment, zero risk of stereotypes and collaboration with people from the most exotic academic disciplines sounded just right for me.

Now I’ve been with BCG for almost two years; I have worked on very real business problems in different industries across several countries, I have seen my recommendations implemented and my skills developing beyond my expectations. Add the fantastic people I work with and the extremely friendly company culture and you may begin to understand my fascination with consulting…

Background
Eva holds an MSc degree in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and a post-graduate degree in International Relations and Asian Politics from the University of Queensland in Australia. She has also graduated from the University of Economics Prague. Eva joined BCG’s Prague office in 2007.

Each day I learn new things, and every few months I have an opportunity to investigate a different field.
Jiri
Associate, Prague
A Personal Story
Before joining BCG I completed PhD studies in computational fluid dynamics at the Czech Technical University and a NATO research institute in Belgium. Although I enjoy research, I came to the point where I started looking for a job that would broaden my horizons and provide an interesting challenge. In this respect, BCG was the perfect choice. Each day I learn new things, and every few months I have an opportunity to investigate a different field. It is a great feeling to see what an impact one’s work can have. Moreover, working on clients' sites offers a unique opportunity to see those companies from the inside. From a personal point of view, I was very surprised by the friendly, supportive atmosphere of the office here. Although the work is demanding and challenging, both managers and peers give all possible support needed for success in our tasks.
Background
Jiří holds a PhD degree jointly from the Czech Technical University and Université Libre de Bruxelles. During his studies, he spent over 2.5 years in a NATO research institute in Belgium working on the development of mathematical methods for computational fluid dynamics. Jiří joined BCG’s Prague office in 2007.
