University Graduates

As a soon-to-be graduate of a top college or university, you have a wide range of promising career options in front of you. We know it is hard to navigate them. The choice you make will impact you for a lifetime.

Have you considered a career with BCG? It may be one of your best options for getting on the fast track to a successful career and accelerated personal growth. At BCG, we believe you should be in the driver’s seat, charting your own course to realize your personal goals. And we are here to help you do that in any way we can

At BCG, you’ll work alongside and learn from some of the finest minds in business from day one. You’ll be fully involved in client work, making an immediate impact. As Michelle Peluso, BCG alumna and current president and CEO of Travelocity Global, says, “You always have a license to think outside of the box and a license to come up with creative ideas. You have the license to have an agenda and really push it forward. That’s an exceptional thing for someone right out of college.”

BCG places great importance on each consultant’s career and personal development. We also recognize that there is no single path to achievement or success.  Consequently, we provide options and flexibility regarding the types of clients you serve, how you work within BCG, and whether you work locally or internationally in our global network of more than 65 offices. You’ll have unparalleled opportunities for growth and giving your career the best foundation—and jump-start—imaginable.

A Jump Start to Your Career

After being an associate for a couple of years, you will find that there are multiple paths you can follow, including for example, going for an advanced degree such as MBA, continue working as a consultant, working in industry, and working in a nonprofit organization through our secondment program. Working at BCG just expands the number of choices in front of you.

In particular, many associates choose to pursue an advanced degree, often in one of the top graduate institutions. If you so choose, BCG will support your application. In recent years, 90 percent of our associates who applied to a top-tier business school were accepted. We believe that investing in our people promotes growth—both yours and BCG’s.

What University Graduates Bring to BCG

Recent university graduates bring important qualities to BCG, including ambition, a solid theoretical base, a strong desire to make a difference, and the ability to think critically—an attribute that has little to do with age or experience. Indeed, in the words of BCG’s founder, Bruce Henderson, “Getting older may mean becoming smarter in the ways of the world, but it adds nothing to analytical ability, conceptual ability, intelligence, imagination, or energy.”

University graduates bring another key dimension: a diversity of perspectives and backgrounds, which can prove invaluable. Accordingly, we don’t confine our recruiting efforts to students who have focused their education on traditional areas such as economics, management, and business. We also seek university graduates with degrees in law, languages, social and natural sciences, and other disciplines.

What to Expect

As a graduate with a bachelor’s degree, you’ll be joining BCG as an Associate. From the start, you’ll be working as a valued member of case teams, helping world-class companies address some of their most pressing strategic challenges and initiatives. You’ll gain exposure to a broad spectrum of industries and business concepts and practices, and your practical learning will help you make a quantum leap forward as you move from the classroom to the real world of business.
