Prague hosted 500 BCG Partners from 38 countries
Nearly 500 BCG partners gathered in Prague to talk strategy – both their clients’ and their own – at the company’s annual worldwide officers’ meeting in May 2007. The week-long event, which ran from May 7-11, marked the first time BCG’s entire officer group had met in Central and Eastern Europe underscoring the increasing importance of CEE to the firm’s clients.
The meeting’s main purpose was to share BCG’s deep expertise in global management issues and to unveil its latest research on CEE-specific issues. The high-profile gathering also discussed topics such as “tapping into CEE’s 200 million neglected consumers”, “capturing global sourcing advantages in CEE”, and “organizing for success across CEE”.
The partners heard from an array of distinguished business and political leaders from the region, including Václav Havel, Lech Wałęsa, and Gyula Horn, who played major roles in developing modern democracies in CEE. In addition, participants included BCG President and CEO Hans-Paul Bürkner, leaders of the firm’s practice areas and operating regions (the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific), and several BCG experts who are international authorities on issues such as innovation, Web 2.0 and consumer purchasing trends.
